Cut to outside the theatre. A poster for ‘The Creek’ is being placed in the window.

Inside…

DAWSON: It opens tomorrow, so everything needs to be set up by then.

Behind him, Joey, Andie, Audrey, and Chris. Are performing various tasks to transform the old theatre. Andie is setting up an old-style popcorn machine.

ANDIE: Not to worry, Dawson. This’ll be the best premiere you’ve ever seen.

DAWSON: The movie itself will probably decide that for me…but thanks.

Andie crosses her arms, smiling.

ANDIE: Well, if you want my honest opinion, half of the enjoyment you get from going to the movies is the atmosphere.

She reaches behind the counter.

ANDIE: We’ve even got Milk Duds and Junior Mints.

Dawson smiles.

DAWSON: Perfect.

Joey walks through the double-doors, and enters a large room. It’s the same theatre where Chris and Audrey had performed their play, only the stage now had a very large screen placed there.

Dawson walks up behind her.

DAWSON: There’s a mechanism in the projection room that raises and lowers it. It’s two different kinds of theatres in one. You like?

JOEY: It’s amazing.

DAWSON: I’ll take that as a ‘yes’.

Joey kisses him.

JOEY: You’re nervous though, right?

DAWSON: Heh. How can you tell?

JOEY: Come on…do I really have to answer?

DAWSON: I’ve made a lot of movies in my time, but this is the first one I actually get to show the world. I’m petrified.

JOEY: You’ll do fine. Trust me.

DAWSON: You’ll be there, right?

Joey half-smiles.

JOEY: Wouldn’t miss it for the world.

THEME SONG BEGINS

DAWSON: So, honest opinion…is this going to go off without a hitch?

Joey shrugs.

JOEY: Even if it doesn’t, it’s not like you didn’t try.

Dawson sighs.

DAWSON: Not helping, Jo.
