Cut to Capeside, in Dawson’s room.
Dawson sits on the bed, watching television. The film ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ is playing.
Suddenly, Joey crawls in through the window. She collapses face-first onto the bed, groaning.
DAWSON: You ok?
Joey turns her head to look at him.
JOEY: No. They should have some warning that you should be gifted with uncanny patience to plan one of these things.
Dawson chuckles.
DAWSON: Bad case of the ‘wedding bell blues’? Shouldn’t Bessie be the one freaking out?
JOEY: Should but isn’t. They said they wanted a ‘simple’ ceremony. ‘Simple’ indicates ‘not much work involved’, which isn’t what’s happening here, Dawson.
DAWSON: You’re stressing out way too much, Jo. Everything’s going to work out fine.
JOEY: This isn’t just anything, Dawson. It’s my sister’s wedding. I just, I don’t know…I want it to be perfect.
DAWSON: You’re sounding like me.
She sighs.
JOEY: So you think I’m worrying needlessly?
DAWSON: Of course. Nothing’s going to happen.
Joey’s eyes go wide.
DAWSON: What? What did I say?
JOEY: I can’t believe you said that!
DAWSON: Huh?
JOEY: ‘Nothing bad is going to happen’. Do you realize how much of a jinx that is? Now it’s almost for sure something IS going to happen. Ahhh!
She falls back down on the bed, as Dawson cringes.
DAWSON: Sorry…
