Cut to Joey’s dorm room. Chris and Audrey are seated on one of the beds, in front of the television.

AUDREY: Ok, who’s the girl?

CHRIS: Devon? Hand picked by the great Mr. Leery himself. She was a great kisser.

Audrey scoffed.

CHRIS: You know he met her when she was a model. Joey was in an art class, and…

Audrey giggles.

AUDREY: You mean THAT was her? The one Dawson walked in on?

Chris grins.

CHRIS: Oh, so you’ve heard the story?

AUDREY: Heck yeah! According to Joey, he almost fell over.

Chris laughs.

CHRIS: Oh, I can tell you amazing stories of Dawson Leery’s juvenile ineptitude.

Joey walks in, staring at the two of them sitting on her bed.

JOEY: What is he doing here?

Audrey and Chris look up at her.

AUDREY: I invited him.

Joey sighs.

JOEY: Great! Now I’m going to have to burn the sheets!

Quickly, she opens the closet and pulls out a duffel bag.

CHRIS: Hey, you don’t have to book a motel or anything. I’ll be gone after the movie’s over.

JOEY: Don’t flatter yourself, Chris. I’m spending the weekend in Capeside is all. What are you watching, anyway?

She sneaks a look at the TV.

JOEY: Oh. That. I still say she was too tall to play me. You know he made a remake?

Chris’ eyes go wide.

CHRIS: A remake? What about my groundbreaking performance?

She scoffs.

JOEY: You were never cut out for the Richie Cunningham routine, Chris. Hannibal Lecter, on the other hand…

He rolls his eyes.

JOEY: That’s actually one of the reasons I’m headed back there. Harley wants to hang out with your successor some more.

CHRIS: Oh? I take it your protégé meets the height requirement?

Joey smirks, then turns to Audrey.

JOEY: You’ll be ok with him for a few days?

AUDREY: Oh, totally.

Chris suddenly gets up from the bed and heads to the door.

CHRIS: Well, I’ll leave you two lovely ladies to bond for a while. See you at the library later, Audrey.

AUDREY: Bye.

He shuts the door behind him.

THEME SONG BEGINS

Joey and Audrey focus back on the television, as Chris gives another performance.

AUDREY: He is a pretty good actor, you know? Even at 16.

JOEY: Well, he had a lot of practice convincing unassuming young ladies that he was a good guy. Imitating someone with Dawson’s integrity was second nature to him. But, you know what? It’s an act. That’s all it is.

Audrey gives her a look.

AUDREY: Come on! You don’t know that.

Joey laughs.

JOEY: Trust me, Audrey. Chris Wolfe has probably never loved anyone in his entire life.
