Cut to Creek Side Pictures. Upstairs, in a dark room, Pacey begins a dramatic monologue.
PACEY: You’re probably wondering what this is all about, right? Let’s just say it’s been a…long day!
He paces back and forth, and uncomfortable look on his face.
PACEY: Why am I talking to you? That’s the thing…you’re kind of the only person I can talk to about this. The only person I could ever talk to about this. You see…it’s about Joey.
Pacey starts chuckling.
PACEY: Yeah, what else, right? Well, things sort of took a turn for the worse today. Nothing that would surprise you. Nope. Just your usual angst-filled evening.
He sighs.
PACEY: We’ve come to an understanding about Miss Potter recently. Yeah, that’s right! Who would have thought Pacey Witter and Dawson Leery would agree about a girl? Well, it’s been tough. Maybe I’d better just tell you what happened…

Cut to Worthington, just outside of the Dean’s office.
V.O.(Pacey): Remember Oliver? Sure you do. Well, currently, the man is both my saviour and my tormentor. That new business we’ve started up…Creek Side Pictures…it needs to get off the ground as soon as possible. Oliver’s our first client, so if we don’t succeed on this one, we’re screwed.
Dawson and Pacey walk up to the secretary, talking to her for a moment.
V.O.(Pacey): Now Dawson, movie-savvy that he is, came up with the brilliant idea of filming at Worthington. Easier said than done, right? That’s where I came in.
The two of them wander around, waiting to be called in.
DAWSON: You sure this’ll work?
PACEY: Nope. But it’s worth a shot, right?
Dawson sighs.
DAWSON: Wake me when it’s over!
Pacey grins at him.
PACEY: Just watch me work my magic!
The secretary returns, motioning towards the two of them.
SECRETARY: The dean will see you now.
Pacey flashes her a smile, then accompanies Dawson inside the office.
Once inside, the Dean stands up from his desk and quickly goes to shake Pacey’s hand. He has a large smile on his face.
DEAN: Pacey! Well, this is certainly a surprise!
Pacey smiles at him.
PACEY: How’ve you been, sir?
DEAN: Not bad, not bad. Though we’ve missed you the past two summers.
Pacey smirks.
PACEY: Well, I don’t blame you.
The two of them laugh for a moment, while Dawson just watches from the sidelines.
DEAN: So, what are you up to these days, Mr. Witter?
PACEY: The entertainment business, believe it or not!
The dean raises an eyebrow.
PACEY: Actually, that’s kinda why I’m here. I want you to meet my partner, and personal best friend, Dawson Leery!
Finally, Dawson makes his presence known. He steps up and shakes the Dean’s hand.
DAWSON: Hey.
DEAN: Well, any friend of Pacey’s is a friend of mine.
Dawson smiles.
DAWSON: Fortunate, because we need to ask your permission about something.
The dean crosses his arms.
DEAN: Go ahead.
DAWSON: The two of us have recently started up an independent film production company here in Boston. Our first client has submitted the script for a college-themed movie, and…well, I think your school would be the perfect backdrop for it.
The dean’s eyes go wide.
DEAN: You want to make a movie here? At Worthington?
Pacey steps in.
PACEY: I get that it sounds kinda sudden, but think of the possibilities here. If the movie makes it big, your school’s going to end up on millions of theatre screens. Now, sure…we’re new and not too experienced at this…
Pacey draws his attention to Dawson.
PACEY: But that man is good at what he does. Real good. I wouldn’t be working with him if he wasn’t..
He still seems unsure.
DEAN: Well…
Pacey grins.
PACEY: (sing-song) We can get you a part in it!
Those words cause the Dean’s eyes to light up.
DEAN: Well, I don’t see the harm in it. As long as it doesn’t disrupt any of the classes. You’re not going to have any big-name movie stars here, are you?
Dawson scoffs.
DAWSON: We wouldn’t be able to afford them. Just people around the area…maybe even students who go here. It would certainly help strive for realism.
A smile appears on the Dean’s face.
DEAN: Now that I like. Ok, Mr. Leery…you’ve got yourself a deal. Just make sure it doesn’t interfere with any of the classes.
Dawson smiles.
DAWSON: I’ll try my best, sir!

Outside the office, a few minutes later…
Dawson and Pacey march out of there, with large grins on their face.
DAWSON: You so rock!
Pacey laughs.
DAWSON: I mean, did you see yourself in there?
PACEY: I was a businessman for a year, Dawson. It’s like falling off a log. It seems like we’re in business now, am I right?
Dawson looks at him, raising his hand.
DAWSON: Let’s do it!
They high-five.
