Hey there everyone, and welcome to my first column. I know you are used to the very witty 'Ask Jason' column (insert some form of sarcastic smile here!) and some of you maybe even be missing it (counts all zero hands raised), but alas, for the duration of this season, I am all yours!

I'm so excited. I have my own column. I only wonder if I will ever fall in the footsteps of Jason and maybe some day pen my own episode of the *cough* highly acclaimed "Dawson's Creek".

This new season sees many changes not only to the core cast but also to the writing team.

New executive producer Peter is very excited about the new season and what lies ahead.

"I think something that's been lost with Dawson's Creek over the years is the element of fun. Take a look at the early episodes, such as the Dance episode and the 'Breakfast Club' spoof. Though Dawson, Joey, Pacey, and the rest of the gang had a tremendous amount of problems, they also tended to have a good time in the process. They're young...they shouldn't spend all their spare time angsting about who's going out with whom."

Fans of the show will be used to the storylines of the show revolving around Dawson Leery, Joey Potter, Jen Lindley and Pacey Witter and in it's last four season, to include Jack McPhee. However at the end of last season Jack and Jen left for New York. The character of Audrey Liddell played by Busy Phillips will be returning for her third season, and is now regarded as one of the core gang. Meredith Monroe, who played the role of Andie McPhee for 3 years will be returning.

Perhaps one of the boldest moves is the return of a recurring guest star of season 2, Jason Behr. Behr who is better known for his role on Roswell, will be back after a 4 year hiatus, to reprise his role of Chris Wolfe.

For many fans the show seemed to stop being Dawson's Creek and became more about gal pal, Joey Potter and who she would decide was the one for her. When we asked peter about this he replied:

"One of the core themes of the show has always been the thin line between friendship and love, and the problems that appear when the two sides meet. Dawson and Joey had the perfect relationship before they fell for one another, and to this day I don't think either one of them knows whether the change was for the better or the worse. Pacey's friendship with Dawson was one of the most important things in his life, but it hasn't been the same since he first fell for Joey. Deciding which side is more important to them is something these characters will have to confront, and will be one of the major themes in the first half of the season."

Next week the column will be taking on a different format from this one, where in the style of "Ask Jason" you get to dictate what is in the column. Is there something you always wanted to know about behind the scenes?
